Buoy Salon Apprentice 

Position Summary

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Hair Salon Apprentice to join our Award winning salon team. This role is focused on supporting stylists and clients while developing professional hairdressing skills in a modern  luxe & fast paced Salon environment.

The successful applicant will contribute to delivering exceptional client experiences, maintaining high salon standards, and continually learning all aspects of the hairdressing industry. Apprentices are expected to attend Polytechnic or Hairdressing College training and successfully complete all required unit standards in line with HITO requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Client Experience & Salon Support

• Welcome clients warmly and provide friendly, professional service
• Support stylists and senior team members during client services
• Maintain positive communication with clients and team members
• Assist in creating a clean, organised, and professional salon environment

Professional Standards

• Arrive punctually and be ready to commence work at rostered times
• Maintain a high standard of personal presentation, including professional salon attire (black/white dress standard)
• Attend all salon meetings and training sessions as required
  
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Training & Development

• Attend all apprenticeship training programs and education sessions
• Continuously build knowledge of hairdressing techniques, salon services, and industry trends
• Develop a strong understanding of professional and retail salon products
• Record client chemical and service information accurately when required
• Follow all salon procedures and HITO training requirements

Salon Operations

• Assist with daily and weekly salon cleaning duties
• Ensure tools, stations, and shared areas are maintained to salon standards
• Use salon products responsibly and according to measurement guidelines
• Support stock control procedures and follow salon policies regarding products and salon property

Team Contribution

• Work collaboratively with all team members
• Assist senior stylists with their clients and services when required
• Maintain a respectful, positive, and professional attitude within the workplace
• Participate in all social & digital channels when required
