Preparing for your laser treatment

Our advanced laser treatments are designed to generate action and change the quality and behaviour of your skin. For this reason, we recommend following a few simple steps before you start your one-off treatment or treatment plan with us.

We require you to book a free consultation before any laser hair removal or laser facial treatment at Buoy Spa. In some cases, you may need to undergo a skin patch test before your laser or IPL treatment.

You must avoid suntanning and self-tanners up to four weeks before your treatment. 

If you take any medications or supplements, we recommend consulting your therapist or physician first, as some may be contraindications for these laser treatments. 

Aftercare 
You should avoid sun exposure, strenuous exercise, and any physical activity that generates heat in the skin for at least 24 hours after your laser treatment. 

After laser hair removal or a laser facial treatment, your skin is particularly vulnerable to the sun. We recommend using a broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF30 or higher immediately after your treatment and on the following days.

We recommend that you avoid waxing and plucking between treatments. However, shaving is fine and will not interfere with progress.
